Can I do Secret Santa with an odd number of people?▾
Yes, absolutely! Secret Santa forms a single continuous loop (derangement) where Person A gives to B, B gives to C, and C gives back to A. It works seamlessly with any group of 3 or more people, regardless of whether the total count is odd (3, 5, 7, 9...) or even.
How do participants view their match without an account?▾
When you share the generated link, participants simply click it and select or type their own exact name. The app decrypts their match in the browser and displays: "You are the Secret Santa for [Recipient Name]!". They cannot see anyone else's assignment.
Can I print physical paper slips instead of sharing online?▾
Yes! When your draw is created, simply click "Print Paper Slips" in the dialog. Our printer-friendly layout formats individual dashed-line cards that you can easily cut with scissors and place into a physical hat or bowl.
What happens if I close the browser tab after drawing?▾
Because we strictly respect your privacy and never store your participant names in a database, the event URL only exists inside the link you copy. Please save the event URL or share it with your group immediately. If you lose the link, you will need to generate a new draw.
How do exclusion rules work?▾
Exclusion rules prevent specific pairings — for example, spouses or siblings from drawing one another. You can add as many exclusion pairs as needed. If too many exclusions make a valid drawing mathematically impossible, the generator will immediately notify you so you can adjust rules.
